head of school Rabbi Elie Tuchman
Rabbi Elie Tuchman grew up in Monsey, NY. After high school he spent
two years at Yeshivat Shaalvim in Israel, and later graduated from Yeshiva College with a BA in Computer Science. Rabbi Tuchman was ordained
at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and earned an MA in Jewish Education and Administration from the Azrieli Graduate School of Yeshiva University. He also holds an MA in Computer Science from New York University, and a Specialists Certificate (Ed.S.) in Jewish Education from Azrieli.

Rabbi Tuchman began his teaching career at Westchester Day School, where he was awarded the Gruss Life Monument Award for Excellence in Teaching. From there, he moved with his family to California to become the head of Oakland Hebrew Day School. While there, he led the school through a period of tremendous growth, taking it from a small K-3 startup to a full K-8 school, which was nationally recognized for excellence.

Upon his return to the East Coast, Rabbi Tuchman served as Head of School at the Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy of Rockland in Monsey, NY. He has also supervised and mentored student teachers for the Azrieli Graduate School at Yeshiva University, where he is currently a doctoral candidate.

As the founding Head of School of YJS, Rabbi Tuchman has been instrumental in bringing the vision of the YJS founders to fruition. Rabbi Tuchman is proud to be a part of the Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore family, and looks forward to continuing to help our children and our school grow in the years to come.
