Yeshiva Welcomes Gift of a Torah Scroll

Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore welcomed a century-old Torah scroll April 28 with music, dancing, and food. Donated by Congregation Torat El in Oakhurst, the scroll arrived at the Ocean school after a journey from Europe to the United States in the early 1900s. Read the rest of this entry »

Book Fair

Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore, Ocean, NJ Celebrates Literacy! YJS will host a Book Fair to benefit their school at Barnes & Noble, 869 Rt. 1 South, North Brunswick, NJ on Sunday, March 3rd from 2:30 to 4:00 PM. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore. Come shop and help them build their classroom libraries

Purchase a book for yourself or choose from the School Wish List Table.

There will be YJS student presentations, crafts, door prizes and more!!

Scroll Give-Away Aims to Reinforce Torah

RabbiTuchmanAcceptsTorahEmphasizing that “Torah lies at the center of all that we are and all that we are striving to become,” Rabbi Aaron Schonbrun set the tone for the Dec. 16 morning ceremony at which Congregation Torat El celebrated the gifting of five scrolls to synagogues and Jewish organizations throughout the metropolitan region, as well as in Israel and Europe.
